National Championships

Barbados National Championships will take place from Friday, June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd 2024 at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, St. Michael.

Who will reign supreme and be the this year’s national champion, in the highly anticipated 400m.

 

Track & Field In June

The last month of the track and field season will see 3 meets. The Olympians’ Classic, Junior Development Meet and National Championships. View the meet information to see more details on these meets.

Back On Track – April Classic 2024

For the first time in 2024, athletes will be running on a synthetic track for an AAB meet. The track at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex was re-laid during January – March.

The April Classic will run off on Saturday, April 20th at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex beginning at 3:00pm.

 

National Junior Championships 2024

The Barbados National Junior Championships takes place from Friday, March 1st – Sunday, March 3rd. The field events take place across 3 locations: Combemere School, National Stadium and Coleridge and Parry, while the track events take place at St. George Secondary School.

New AAB President

The Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) welcomes a new president. H.E. Noel Lynch takes over the leadership of the AAB from long serving president Catherine Jordan. The AAB thanks Ms. Jordan for her years of service to athletics in Barbados.

The new Board of the AAB is as follows:

2nd Vice President – Dr. June Caddle

Secretary – Renee Layne

Asst. Secretary – Ayesha Maycock

Treasurer – Trevor Welch

Asst. Treasurer – Wendel Mason

AAB Website

The AAB experienced challenges with its website and therefore the site was not being updated. However, those challenges have now been rectified by our service provider and the AAB Website will be updated as soon as possible.

Registration For The 2023-2024 Season

Early registration for the 2023-2024 season runs from 1st October – 31st December 2023. Registration is online via the AAB Website under the registration tab.

Road to the Dominican Republic

U13 & U15 athletes showcased their ability over two days of keen competition at the Usain Bolt Sports complex over the weekend (June 17th – 18th).
